I just had to make a quick mid-week comment on the environment. I have three apple trees in the back yard and a very large ornamental apple tree in the front yard - 25ft tall and about as much wide. I stood out in the drive this morning; the tree is in full bloom enough to smell the apple blossoms, and watched the tree for bees. After more than ten minutes I gave up - NOT as single bee could be seen pollinating any part of this tree! What sad observation on our environment. I don't know what the apple crop on my fruit trees will be as the same observations can be made in the back yard - just try to find bees working those trees!
